The location overlooking the jungle is beautiful and the gardens are designed to make you feel that you are in a well-manicured part of it. The menu continues to grow and is now very flexible in its choices of local and international food. A great place to relax but also convenient for a visit to the sights of Kandy.  The house has been restored and renovated to a very high level . The rooom was very stylish and comfortable. I had a wonderful swim in the morning in the infinity pool with a spectacular view.The food was great and we particularly loved the spicy watermelon juice .  Art and hospitality in a historic upcountry house. I have always wanted to stay in one of these restored country houses and I was delighted by Flame Tree. The beautiful decor and the art collection is worth the trip alone. Our room was gorgeous, and we went for a walk around the estate grounds. The set menu food is delicious, and we enjoyed it on the terrace as the monsoon rain poured. When the sun came out, the pool was exactly what we needed to relax with a king coconut. Una.  Where do I start…. This former plantation house is hidden from the road and set in 25 acres. When we drove up the lane I did think OMG what have I done as it’s very off beat…. But then we were blown away. Angelo and the team are just world class as nothing is too much. The food was incredible with a tasting menu each night.  It’s absolute paradise. I would fly back to Sri Lanka simply to stay in this place for a couple more days. The setting is beautiful, completely away from it all.  The place is definitely quite remote, but in such a stunning and beautiful landscape, wow. The rooms we're fantastic, amazing shower, everything nicely and lovingly furnished.  I adored being here and the only negative side of our stay was that being too short. The estate is breath-taking and the food one of the most delicious I had in Sri Lanka. The property itself is outstanding, full of art works and antiques, batiks, old photos, furniture and with library that has shelves and shelves of books. The outside terrace faces west with views across a valley to a small hill and forest. The outlook is framed by palm trees. There is a superb swimming pool to cool off.
