 A stunning hotel with exceptional views and amazing food and service. Flame Tree is a stunning hotel where you are made to feel like a VIP. The rooms are beautifully curated with thoughtful touches and wonderful background music playing all day. The staff are discreet but always there when we needed something.  WOW! I have to say this is the most beautiful hotel I’ve EVER stayed in and I’ve stayed in a few!. The view from the pool just cannot be beaten, the sounds of the jungle are dreamy. The staff, all of them, incredible! What I loved about this luxury stay was they didn’t rip you off with the cost of the food & alcohol!  Home in the hills. The location overlooking the jungle is beautiful and the gardens are designed to make you feel that you are in a well-manicured part of it. The menu continues to grow and is now very flexible in its choices of local and international food. A great place to relax but also convenient for a visit to the sights of Kandy. I have always wanted to stay in one of these restored country houses and I was delighted by Flame Tree. The beautiful decor and the art collection is worth the trip alone. Our room was gorgeous, and we went for a walk around the estate grounds. The set menu food is delicious, and we enjoyed it on the terrace as the monsoon rain poured.  Artistic boutique hotel with caring service. A jewel of a hotel. A magnificent waluwaa which has been lovingly restored and decorated. The art collection is mesmerising especially for anyone with an interest in Sri Lankan art and history. The meals on the veranda were superb quality and portion sizes were just right.  Absolutely Breathtaking. This property is a delight, a stunning retreat. The main house and grounds were absolutely breathtaking.  A wonderful stay with a serene and peaceful atmosphere, this property offers stunning views and is situated in the heart of a coffee estate.  I am running out of superlatives to describe this gorgeous place. The main house is utterly stunning and has an air of colonial splendour to it. The staff are so kind and helpful – just when you are taking a breather between delicious meals, they arrive at your lounger with tea and cake. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this blissful place.  Paradise outside Kandy - there was nothing we didn’t like. It is the perfect retreat. An oasis of calm that nourishes the soul.  This is the most intimate hotel in which my family and I have ever stayed. Everything is very delicious. And evening dinners of several courses are a separate kind of pleasure. There are many animals and birds around. Truly the best hotel in Sri Lanka! Such places are difficult to find not only in Sri Lanka but also in the world. The rooms are luxurious, new, the interior is filled with designer furniture, the perfect cleanliness of the room, the 4 poster bed.  We liked everything about this gorgeous boutique hotel. You feel as if you are privileged guests in a wonderful private home. Set in a glorious jungle estate, the beautiful old buildings have been lovingly renovated and are decorated, and filled with fascinating art and artefacts.  A beautiful colonial house, very tastefully renovated and decorated by the owner; it is stylish and refined, yet very warm and comfortable. There’s art everywhere, a huge library, but also plenty of space to relax by the gorgeous pool. Breakfast is delicious, and staff very attentive. We were there for one night and changed all our schedule to stay a second one. It’s a bit secluded from Kandy but definitely worth the detour as it is the perfect pause during your trip.
